My understanding about Multimedia

Multimedia is a combination of any means or type of media used to convey information, whether hardware or software. It is an interactive medium that provides many opportunities to inform users in advanced ways, allowing users to interact with digital information. In other words, multimedia is a computerized way of displaying information that combines textual data, audio, visual elements (video), graphics, and animation. 

Multimedia is in a various collection of technologies used around the world to provide information and communication. This technology is utilized for advanced operations that require the usage of digital systems. 

In fact, a media was usually in a newspaper before. They uses text, images and graphics. But, in the 20th century motion pictures, radio television became the new media. Combining all of the media, constructs multimedia. Such as, images, texts, graphics, video, and audio. Its job is to deliver information to users digitally and to help users connect and communicate with each other.

Multimedia is widely used in the entertainment industry. It is especially used to develop special effects in movies and video games. Music and video apps are the most glaring example of the rise of multimedia in entertainment. In addition, the use of multimedia in the gaming industry made it possible to make interactive games. These have numerous functions as well and can be utilized in the various industry. Moreover multimedia have made things more mobile and can be used to do many things. We utilize it for educational purposes to learn new things and to assist us in problem-solving.

How Do I use Multimedia?

Video ( sunset video ) 

• I filmed the breathtaking sunset using my instagram camera.
• I used filters to add a little bit of spice to the video, to make it a more calming and peaceful vibe. 
• And, I chose music to attach to the video I filmed. 

Text and graphics ( infographics ) 

• Infographic is used to organize information 
• I think first about what kind of concept I wanted to make an infographic about.  
• I chose a template that is connected to my chosen concept. 
• I chose different graphics/elements to organize the information. 
• I chose the right texts, which are appropriate to the template and background design. 
• Then, I add extra graphics to design the whole infographic and make it more attractive.

• I chose one subject to be captured. A subject that has a beautiful meaning behind it. 
• I captured the image using my camera at the right angle. 
• Filters are being added to make it more mesmerizing. 

What do you think is the significance of using Multimedia? 

There are countless significance that multimedia brings to us, especially that we’re in the era of advanced technology. Here are the importance of multimedia; 

• Multimedia helps us in a different fields such as business, education, home, public places and the most common is entertainment purposes.  

• Multimedia is beneficial especially to students like us, it encourages more productive education. Students may use multimedia as an alternative source of information and learn different languages, they don’t need to acquire books or tutors anymore because they can easily learn it through audio, videos, and using various multimedia. 

• One of the most common applications of multimedia in our daily lives is to encourage and facilitate interaction, communication and ideas. For instance, radio stations, music stations, telephones, televisions, videos, and audio. Multimedia is highly prevalent nowadays, and it undoubtedly helps each of us in our daily lives.
